Sue Blackshaw BA Hons, MBACP, NCPS Accredited

I will listen and help you find the best of you, by allowing you to explore a greater understanding of self and developing your coping strategies to support with life’s most challenging experiences.

I am a highly qualified counsellor with a BA Hons in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also trained in Brainspotting, please see section on the benefits of brainspotting in the therapy room.

I am experienced in supporting more of life’s dilemmas and experiences such as grief and loss. This can be from the loss of a person through death or the loss of identity such as redundancy or medical diagnosis.

I run weekly support groups specialising in areas such as anxiety and depression, Anger, and Grief and Loss for a local CIC mental health service where individuals are given time to discuss their experiences of issues and to share skills and form new positive friendships.

Curly Therapy Animal

Curly is a therapy dog in training and quite the pawfessional! Her breed is a Cavapoochon. A fabulous blend of the most intelligent and gentle natured dogs. At nearly 2 years old she is maturing into a fantastic pleasure to be around. She gives the best cuddles.

Curly is a wonderful addition to the counselling room and has made a massive impact for client’s already.

She often attends the group work and is available to attend any counselling session where a client feels appropriate.

Dogs are known for amazing benefits within therapy and Curly certainly endorses this beyond measure.
